DIY 3/16″ Kit – Round Organizer Bowl – Coiled Rope Basket Kit by The Mountain Thread Company

With the Round Organizer Bowl DIY Rope Basket Kit from The Mountain Thread Company, you can make one basket for organizing the spaces that need it most! The finished basket is roomy enough for keys, phone, and other pocket treasures – but also works for organizing a tabletop, desk space, craft room, bedside table, shelf, child’s room, spare room, and more. You can vary the dimensions of the project, but the standard round organizer measures about 6-8” across and 3-4” tall.

The Round Organizer Basket Kit contains the following:

• 15 Yards of 3/16” 100% cotton rope (an exclusive Mountain Thread Company braid made in our home state of North Carolina) to make one round basket

• Introduction card with details for machine settings, thread selection, and expanded tips for fabric wrapping and customizing the baskets

• Detailed instructions with illustrations for making the project AND finishing detail

• 1 heavy duty sewing machine needle

• A link to unlock bonus material on our website.

In addition to the materials included in the kit, makers will need a sewing machine**, scissors, and 50 wt thread. Makers can also incorporate any of their own fabric remnants if desired (fabrics are not included).

**The Mountain Thread Company’s signature 3/16” rope was developed specifically for coiled rope basketry, and is custom made exclusively for The Mountain Thread Company. It is similar to layers of denim or canvas, which can be sewn on domestic machines. Use the provided heavy duty needle (a size 100/16 denim needle) to accommodate the thickness of the rope.
